Supporting a Grieving Friend

When someone we care about is grieving, it is natural to worry about saying the wrong thing. In practice, presence matters more than perfect words.

Simple, honest statements — "I am so sorry, I am here" — are often more comforting than attempts to explain or minimise the loss. Avoid rushing someone toward "moving on," and instead offer practical, ongoing support: a meal, a visit, a willingness to simply sit with them in the hard moments.
